At Schaefer & Companions, we believe that watchmaking can be more than precision and performance — it can be a canvas for artistic expression, a meeting point between timeless craftsmanship and contemporary vision. That’s why we are deeply honored by the recent article written by Francesco Patti for L’Orologio:
“Mestieri d’Arte al giusto prezzo”.
In a landscape where profitability often overshadows artistry, Francesco Patti’s words stand out. He captures the spirit of a young independent brand that dares to put art, human hands, and meaning at the heart of every watch — and at a price that respects both the artisan and the collector.
A Platform for Artistic Watchmaking
The article highlights our ambition to become more than just a watch brand — to become a kind of open-source platform where master artisans in enamel, miniature painting, and engraving can bring unique horological creations to life.
This vision takes form in the Solune collection, whose very name fuses soleil and lune — sun and moon — symbolizing life’s duality. As noted by Francesco Patti, that duality is reflected in every detail: from the dodecagonal bezel evoking the sun’s rays, to the engraved lunar cycle encircling the inner rehaut on our Grand Art models.
Solune: Where Enamel Meets Emotion
Each Solune dial is handcrafted from a fine silver plate, carefully enamelled in layers that create textures reminiscent of polar ice fields. Whether in the Grand Art edition with its fully enamelled dial, or the Medallion versions featuring a central motif and enamel detail at 6 o’clock, each piece is unique — and yet priced accessibly for what it represents.
Francesco Patti was right to emphasize the rarity of this proposition: true Métiers d’Art, made by hand in Switzerland, offered at a fair price, and driven not by trend or margin, but by artistic conviction.
Looking Ahead
We are grateful to L’Orologio for recognizing what moves us. For a young brand, every spotlight matters — especially when it comes from a respected voice that values substance over spectacle.
To Francesco Patti: thank you for your words, your insight, and for helping share the Solune spirit with those who truly understand what watchmaking can be.
