Handcrafted artistic dial

The artistic value of this watch lies in its individually handcrafted dial. Created by a named artist or artisan using traditional métiers d’art techniques, every dial carries subtle variations resulting from the human hand and the materials used.

Reliable Swiss mechanical base

The watch is powered by the Swiss ETA 2892-A2 automatic calibre in TOP grade. This established movement was selected for its reliability, slim construction and long-term serviceability, allowing the handcrafted dial to remain at the centre of the creation.

When will I receive my watch?
Estimated preparation time depends on the selected technique and the complexity of the creation process. Our team provides progress updates throughout every stage of production.
How to pre-order my watch
To pre-order your bespoke watch, contact us using the field above and tell us what you have in mind. You may choose a specific theme, colour, texture, material or pattern, or provide your own illustration or artwork. You can also request a personalised engraving on the case back. Our design team will reply within 24 hours of receiving your request with an initial visual simulation, advice on the métier d’art technique best suited to your idea and confirmation of its feasibility. Prices start at CHF 3,500 for designs and techniques of lower complexity and vary according to the intricacy of the artwork, the chosen materials and the selected métier d’art technique. Once the design, final price and artistic direction have been approved, you will receive an invoice for the full amount, which must be paid before production begins, as the dial will be created specifically for your watch. The estimated delivery time depends on the complexity of the design and the selected technique, ranging from approximately three weeks for straw marquetry to six weeks for enamel or hand engraving. Throughout the creation process, our team will provide regular progress updates, workshop images and previews of the final result.
Delivery policy
Every watch is prepared on demand and carefully inspected before dispatch. The estimated preparation time for this model is shown above. Because the dial is handcrafted, timing can vary slightly if extra finishing or quality control is needed. We keep you informed throughout production, and ship only after final approval and full payment.
Warranty and returns
Your watch is covered by a 2-year limited warranty from delivery against manufacturing and functional defects under normal use. Handcrafted variations are part of the piece and are not defects. As watches are prepared on demand, change-of-mind returns may not be accepted once production, allocation or personalization has started. For a damaged, incorrect or defective delivery, contact us within 7 days before returning anything.

UNLIMITED CREATION, PERSONAL EXPRESSION

Creation is the Maison’s fully bespoke watch experience, conceived for those seeking a truly custom-made watch without a predefined artistic direction.

You may choose the theme, colours, pattern, symbolism or visual atmosphere, and our design team will shape these elements into a coherent dial concept.

Depending on your idea, we collaborate with one of our Companions or identify the most appropriate artistic technique to bring the project to life. The result is not simply a personalised watch, but a unique timepiece created around your vision.

FROM FIRST IDEA TO FINAL ARTWORK

YOUR CREATIVE JOURNEY

Throughout the entire process, you are assisted by our design team and invited to follow the creation of your watch from beginning to end. From the first sketches and material research to the artistic execution and final integration, every stage is developed in dialogue with you. You may also provide your own artwork, illustration, photograph or personal motif as the foundation of the design. Each proposal is studied individually, as feasibility depends on the chosen craft, materials, dimensions and technical constraints of the dial.

A WATCH THAT EXISTS ONLY ONCE

Creation is ideal for a meaningful luxury gift, a one-of-a-kind collector’s watch or a personal timepiece carrying a story that cannot be reproduced.

Whether created to mark an anniversary, celebrate an achievement, preserve a memory or transform an artwork into a wearable object, each project is developed as a singular commission. This bespoke watch service offers the freedom to create a dial with its own identity, guided by artistic craftsmanship, technical expertise and the human touch of the Maison’s Companions.

SOLUNE AND OCTOLUNE CASE ARCHITECTURE

SCULPTED IN 904L STEEL, SHAPED BY LIGHT

Crafted from 904L stainless steel, the Solune and Octolune cases express the identity of Schaefer & Companions through geometry, light, and proportion.

Solune is designed as a sculptural watch case, with faceted surfaces and a sun-inspired bezel that reflect light across polished and satin-finished angles. On Grand Art editions, the inner bezel features an engraved moon cycle, framing the handcrafted dial with a discreet celestial signature.

Octolune offers a more restrained interpretation, with an eight-sided bezel and balanced geometry. Its polished facets, brushed surfaces, and 904L steel construction preserve the same play of light in a more minimal architectural form.

SCULPTURAL CASE PROFILE

FACETED SIDES AND ARCHITECTURAL LUGS

From the side, the case reveals one of its most distinctive features: a sculptural profile built around tension, depth, and precision. The case is not simply shaped to hold a movement and dial. It is designed as a small architectural object, where each bevel, edge, and transition contributes to the visual identity of the watch.

The lugs extend from the case with a strong yet fluid presence, giving the watch a bold silhouette while preserving comfort on the wrist. Their sculpted form creates a natural continuity between the case and strap, reinforcing the sense that every element has been drawn as part of the same artistic composition.

Through contrasting finishes, the side of the case becomes a surface of expression. Polished bevels catch the light sharply, while matte and brushed areas create depth and contrast. This balance between brilliance and restraint gives Solune and Octolune their distinctive presence: technical, artistic, and immediately recognizable.

ASTRAL HANDS

CELESTIAL TIME IN MOTION

Inspired by the cosmos, the Astral Hands complete the celestial identity of the Solune and Octolune collections. The hour and minute hands combine brushed and polished finishes, creating a refined contrast that enhances legibility while echoing the case’s play of light.

At the center, the seconds hand becomes a moving star. Shaped as a seven-pointed astral symbol, it turns endlessly above the dial, bringing the artwork to life with a continuous celestial motion. This rotating star transforms the reading of time into a poetic gesture, where every second becomes part of a wider orbit.

Together, the hands, case, and dial form a coherent artistic watchmaking language. They express the core vision of Schaefer & Companions: Swiss mechanical watches designed not only to measure time, but to frame handcrafted art, cosmic inspiration, and the beauty of uniqueness.
