In November 2025, Schaefer & Companions collaborated with Swiss platform QoQa to reveal Solune Solaris, an exclusive artistic watch featuring handcrafted straw marquetry dials by Companion Sabine Aucoulon.
Three solar compositions were created in navy blue, luminous silver and golden sand.
Every strand of straw was individually selected, cut, positioned and polished by hand. Its natural fibres capture light differently according to the angle of the wrist, allowing the dial to change continuously throughout the day.
The radiant motif extends from the centre like sunlight, echoing the celestial architecture of the Solune case.
Created for a limited-time QoQa release, Solaris offered Swiss watch collectors an opportunity to acquire an independent métiers d’art watch shaped through natural material and individual craftsmanship.
No two dials could ever reflect light in exactly the same way.
For specialist watch media, the collaboration also illustrated the Maison’s open approach: bringing together an independent Swiss watch brand, a contemporary artisan and a community-led platform around one shared creation.
Solune Solaris does not attempt to reproduce the Sun.
It captures what the Sun reveals.
